Demonstration of Go-Kart Test Drive

On 3rd October 2013, Surendra Dandekhya and Anup Bikram Bhuju, Mechanical Engineering final year students, successfully demonstrated the test drive of Go-Kart. Faculties and students from Department of Mechanical Engineering and other Departments observed the demonstration.

The Students designed and fabricated Go-Kart at Mechanical Workshop as their project work for the partial fulfillment of their undergraduate course. The project was supervised by Binaya K.C, Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

On the occasion, Dr. Bim Prasad Shrestha, Associate Dean (Research and other activities) of School of Engineering and Head of Department, successfully drove Go-Kart and congratulated students for their hard work.

Some faculties and students from Mechanical Engineering and other Departments also successfully drove Go-kart and appreciated the work.

Go-Kart is powered by 150 cc petrol engine which is transferred to the axle by means of chain drive. It has a disc brake at the rear wheel axle. It can accommodate only one person at a time.

The manufacture cost of Go-Kart is around NRs 45,000.
