On 26 April 2026, a collaborative meeting was held between Kathmandu University (KU) and Daffodil International University (DIU) in Kathmandu.

Prof. Dr. Bal Krishna Bal (Associate Dean) and Associate Prof. Dr. Pankaj Raj Dawadi (Head, Department of CSE) represented Kathmandu University and Dr. Forhad Zahid Shaikh, Professor, Department of CSE, represented Daffodil International University (DIU) 

Key Discussions:

  • Joint work on e-Governance and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)
  • Joint PhD programs, student exchange, and faculty sharing
  • Collaborative research, publications, and conferences
  • Donor-funded projects (UNDP, World Bank, ADB)
  • Partnership with DIU’s Center for Digital Government
  • Joint design and co-delivery of KU’s upcoming e-Governance course (September 2026)

Key Decisions:

  • Form a Joint Working Team to prioritize collaboration areas
  • Create a communication platform (WhatsApp group) for coordination
  • Share institutional strengths and strategic priorities
  • Co-organize academic events

Both sides expressed strong interest in identifying impactful collaboration areas and will subsequently engage university authorities to initiate formal processes. The discussion concluded on a positive note with prospects of MoU signing for collaborations.
