China’s Hebei University of Economics & Business Art Troupe Makes its Successful Performance at KU

Before the performance, Prof. Dr. Shen Fuping, vice president of HUEB and head of the Art Troupe, delivered opening speech. He says that in order to promote the cultural exchanges between China and Nepal and celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival, at the invitation of Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University(CIKU), which is co-established by Kathmandu University and HUEB, the art troupe arrives at Dhulikhel to offer KU teaching staff and students a stage of wonderful programs. During Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao’s visit in Nepal, China and Nepal have designated that the year 2012 is the China-Nepal Friendly Exchanges Year. And on the same day, Nepali President Yadav inaugurated 2012 Visit Lumbini Year. He believes that the performance will bring the new year greetings from China and hope that the cooperation between KU and HUEB will reach a higher level. Prof. Dr. Bhadra Man Tuladhar, Registar of KU, expresses his warm welcome to the art troupe,and believes that the performance will be very excellent. Prof. Bao Deyuan, director of CIKU also extended her greetings to all the KU teaching staff and students, saying that Chinese language has been accepted as a credit course at KU and it is free for all the KU teaching staff and students to learn Chinese at CIKU.The performance is a part of Confucius Institute Grand Spring Festival Gala Nepal Tour Performance. The Gala was hosted by Hanban (i.e.the Office of Chinese Language Council International)/Confucius Institute headquarters, organized by Chinese Embassy in Nepal and HUEB, and co-organized by CIKU. The art troupe made its debut on February 3rd in Siddharthanagar, Lumbini. On February 4th the student actors and actresses from Hebei University of Economics & Business Art Troupe gave their second show in beautiful Pokhara, the second largest city of Nepal. And on February 6th, the student artists performed at Nepal Academy, Kamalati. to 12th .H.E. Ambassador Yang Houlan and Right Honorable Mr. Parmanand Jha, Vice President of Nepal, Honorable Mr. Dina Nath Sharma, Minister for Education, Honorable Mr. Lokendra Bista Magar, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation attended the program. Vice President Jha, Minister Sharma, Ambassador Yang and Dr. Shen Fuping, Vice President of Hebei University of Economics & Business Prof. gave their remarks on the function at Nepal Academy.
