CEP conducted a workshop with LAIKA Academy and ABARI

Community Education Project (CEP) conducted a workshop in collaboration with LAIKA Academy and ABARI.

An interactive session between students and faculties associated with Laika Academy of Australia, Adobe and Bamboo Research Initiative (ABARI) and Community Education Project (CEP) of Kathmandu University was held on Jan 11, 2017 at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel. 

Mr. Sushil Shrestha (Assistant Professor and Project Coordinator) presented about Kathmandu University and the Community Education Program to the participants. Then KU students involved in CEP shared their experience of participating in community projects. Similarly, students of Laika Academy also shared their experiences of participating in the Laika - ABARI education program. In an interactive session, all participants provided feedback to the prototypes that Laika - ABARI students built to solve small problems in the community designed with a collaborative design process.

Laika Academy and ABARI designed an educational experience program for undergraduate students of Australia to learn about and experience heritage, arts, community, and natural resource in different places of Nepal, viz. Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchok and Chitwan. As a part of the educational program, a workshop was conducted at Kathmandu University in collaboration with Community Education Program of Kathmandu University.

 

All participants later visited the material testing lab being built by ABARI using bamboo and earth inside Kathmandu University Central Campus premises.
