Call for Application to Research based temporary positions Aquatic Ecology Centre

Aquatic Ecology Centre (AEC) is a specialized research centre at Kathmandu University based in Dhulikhel. The Centre was established in the year 2003 with the objective of improving academic activities through research and scientific networking. It also aims to impart training and providing analytical services to individuals, government and non-governmental organisations in the field of physico-chemical and biological soil and water quality examination as an income source to meet its operating expenses. AEC is chaired by the Dean of School of Science and headed by a full professor from the School of Science in the capacity of Director who is capable of generating adequate resources through external funding to the centre. There is a provision of Management Committee represented by Lab-in-charge, Research Assistants, and Researchers.

AEC is implementing a longitudinal community based research study in Jiri municipality of Dolakha district with the title “Longitudinal observation study on effectiveness of existing household and community level Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions on health vulnerability to climate in Jiri, Nepal”. This is a DFID funded project implemented by WHO Geneva under the theme “Building Adaptation to climate change in health in least developed countries through resilient WASH” in four different countries such as Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, and Tanzania.
