A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the School of Science, Kathmandu University (SoS, KU) and Himalaya Mahalakshmi Tea Garden Pvt. Ltd. (HMTGPL) on 28th August 2024 at Kathmandu University Dhulikhel. The Dean of School of Science Prof. Dr. Janardan Lamichhane and the Director of HMTGPL Mr. Sudarshan Chapagain signed the MoU for capacity building of Agriculture Students through research and extension of Tea cultivation and processing, farming of commercial horticultural crops, Soil testing and nutrient management, and medicinal and aromatic plants.

The MoU envisaged the agricultural technical support to HMTGPL, Internship and job placement of Agriculture Students for the next 10 years. Department of Agriculture will lead for the proper implementation of MoU between the parties.
