Nepal Accessibility Summit 2026

A Forum on Disability, Accessibility and Universal Design
Date: 12–13 October 2026
Venue: Pokhara, Nepal

The Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) is pleased to collaborate with deessa Foundation and Socialartist in organizing the Nepal Accessibility Summit 2026, with technical support from SDG Studio. The summit is co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by the *Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The Nepal Accessibility Summit 2026 is a two-day international forum that brings together persons with disabilities, government leaders, OPDs, development partners, academia, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives from the local, national, and international levels to advance accessibility, disability inclusion, and Universal Design. The summit will amplify the voices and lived experiences of persons with complex and multiple disabilities, particularly those from remote communities, while fostering collaboration, innovation, and practical solutions that create a more inclusive Nepal and a more accessible future for all.

The two-day international summit aims to bridge the gap between Nepal's policy commitments and everyday accessibility by promoting dialogue, evidence-based practice, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration. The summit will conclude with the Pokhara Declaration, a collective call to action for strengthening accessibility and inclusion across all three levels of government.
