Dr. Shailendra Shakya is a motivated Academician working as an Assistant Professor and researcher at Department of Pharmacy, Kathmandu University. He is involved in teaching-learning and research activities since 2011, basically focusing on Nanoparticles, Pharmacokinetics, Bioavailability and Bioequivalence study and drug delivery applications.
Dr. Shakya has received CAS-TWAS President’s PhD Fellowship offered by The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) for full scholarship to study a doctoral degree in Pharmaceutics at Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica under the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He has completed master’s degree in Pharmacokinetics from China Pharmaceutical University, China and bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Kathmandu University, Nepal. Previously, he has worked as a Production Pharmacist at Pharmaco Industries Pvt. Ltd., Ramkot, Kathmandu.
Currently, Dr. Shakya is involved in the research projects focused on formulation, quality analysis, bioavailability study and design of drug delivery system. With the prospective of Academia-Industry collaboration, he is involved in Bioequivalence study of the drug products manufactured in Nepal. Additionally, research projects on the development of nutraceutical and dermatological products are being undertaken with the goal of entrepreneurship development on the product from lab to the market.
