Dr.Pawan Kumar Jha is an Assistant Professor of Finance and Account in the Department of Finance, Economics and Accounting at the Kathmandu University School (KUSOM). Prior to joining this School in 2014, he had been associated with different academic institutions located at Kathmandu as a faculty of finance, investment, and accounting.
Dr. Jha has done valuable research on “Corporate Dividend Practices: A Study of Selected Indian Companies” for which he was awarded the PhD degree in Management in 2014 from the Faculty of Management Studies (Institute of Management Studies), Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi, India. He completed M.Phil. (Management) in 2011 from the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University, Nepal and Master in Business Studies (MBS) with specialization in finance from the People’s Campus, Kathmandu (Affiliated to Tribhuvan University). Similarly, he completed Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM) in 2007 from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He completed the Online Faculty Development Program Management (FDP) on “Pedagogy and Research Methods” from IIM Ahmedabad, India and the 100-hour training on “Nepal Data Literacy Program” Organized by the World Bank.
Besides teaching undergraduate and research degree courses, he is supervising students' dissertations/project works. He has published and presented research papers in the area of corporate finance, investment, and risk management in national and international journals/conferences. His current research interests include corporate dividend policy, stock market efficiency, portfolio theory, risk management, and behavioral finance related issues, etc. He is also one of the editorial board members of Shanlax International Journal of Management and Subject matter expert member of Department of Accountancy, Dombivli Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s K.V.Pendharkar College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Maharashtra, India. He has published a book entitled, “Fundamentals of Corporate Finance” published by the Writer's Choice Publication Private Limited, New Delhi, India. He also serves as the program coordinator of the research degree program (MPhil & PhD) since 2021 at the KUSOM.
