View all programsI have a teaching experience of more than 25 years. During this period, I have delivered lectures on several courses of Mathematics and Statistics. I focus on interdisciplinary applications of Statistics and Mathematics to problems from Health, Energy and Environment. I was Head of the Department of Natural Sciences from Oct. 2013 to April 2017.
I have completed PhD from Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Osnabrueck, Germany in 2000. I was supported by DAAD fellowship during my PhD study.
I have completed Bachelors (Honours) and Masters in Mathematical Statistics from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, India in 1990 and 1992 respectively.
I have recieved several awards as a student and as a professional including the following two.
1. Mahendra Vidya Bhushan A 2004, Decorated by H.M. Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, the King of Nepal
2. Education Award 2013, Ministry of Education, Government of Nepal
My research focus is on the development and application of various statistical methods, in the backdrop of limited and scarce data. I am also called Jyoti U. Devkota and all my research publications are under this name.
