Biography

Advocate Padma Rijal is a dedicated lecturer at Kathmandu University School of Law, with a profound commitment to nurturing the next generation of legal scholars. She brings a wealth of academic and practical experience to the classroom, inspiring her students to excel in the field of law.

Miss Rijal pursued her undergraduate studies right here at KUSOL, where she laid the foundation for her illustrious career. As a distinguished UNESCO scholar, she furthered her legal education by earning her Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the esteemed South Asian Institute of Legal Studies, University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh.

As a full-time faculty member, she specializes in the domains of Environmental Law and Administrative Law, imparting critical knowledge and fostering a deep understanding of these vital subjects among her students. Prior to this, she was actively involved in litigation and strengthening of local governance. She worked with local governments as Public Administration Fellow of Daayitwa Nepal.

Her scholarly pursuits extend to a wide array of topics, including climate change, energy law, sustainability, and governance. Her passion for these subjects is evident in her innovative teaching pedagogy and the research output of her students.

Among others, some of her notable contributions are her unwavering support for student advocacy efforts, her role in supervising their research endeavors and her role as a coach in national and international moot court competitions. Her mentorship has played a pivotal role in shaping the academic journey of countless undergraduate students, who have benefited immensely from her expertise and guidance.

With an impressive academic background and a commitment to advancing legal knowledge, miss Rijal is a valuable asset to Kathmandu University School of Law since the inception of this institution.
