Biography

Ram Devi Tachamo Shah holds PhD in Natural Sciences from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. As a Postdoc, she worked on the impact of water diversion projects including hydropower projects on aquatic biodiversity. She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Life Sciences in Kathmandu University She has over 15 years of research experiences in Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, China, Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany. She is the recipient of TWAS Young Affiliateship 2020 award for Central and South Asia. She was awarded with the Science and Technology Youth Award in 2016 by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), the Government of Nepal. She has published more than three dozen research articles in peer reviewed journals, several chapters and three books.

3. PhD in Natural Sciences from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany with a full Scholarship form German Federal Ministry of Education and Research through International Postgraduate Studies in Water Technologies (BMBF-IPSWaT) between Jan 2012-Dec 2014, Frankfurt, Germany.

4. Oxford University Scholarship: Planet under Pressure. 11-13 march 2012.

5. Colorado University Scholarship: International Joint Plecoptera - Ephemeroptera Conference in Kiyosato, Japan, June 2011.

6. Global Diversity Foundation Fund: Global Environmental leader 2011, Global Diversity Foundation, Munich, Germany, August 2011.

7. MSc in Environmental Science from UNESCO-Institute for Water Education, Delft, The Netherlands with a full Scholarship from Austrian Development Agency (ADA]  between Oct 2008-April 2010.
