Prof. Dr. Deepak Prasad Subedi
Prof. Dr. Deepak Prasad Subedi is currently the Director of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) at Kathmandu University (KU). He started his career as a Lecturer in Gyanodaya Higher Secondary School upon the completion of M.Sc. from Central Department of Physics, Tribhuvan University. He joined the Department of Physics, Kathmandu University as a lecturer in 1997. He was in study leave from 1999 -2002 for his Ph.D. study. After completing his Ph.D in Plasma Physics from Department of Physical Electronics at Masaryk University, Czech Republic, he continued his service at KU in 2002. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2007 and Full Professor in 2013. During his 24 years at KU, he has served as the Head of the Department of Natural Sciences for 6 years, Associate Dean of School of Science for four years. His research areas are diverse covering Plasma Surface modification of polymers, Plasma diagnostics & applications, Deposition of thin films Characterization of solid surfaces by contact angle measurement, Synthesis and characterization of ZnO etc. Apart from his teaching and research responsibilities, Prof. Subedi is involved in publishings and has 60 research papers and 2 book chapters till date.
