View all programsDr. Deepak Prasad Subedi is a Professor at the Department of Physics. He joined Kathmandu University as a lecturer in 1997. He was in study leave from 1999 -2002 for his Ph.D. study. After completing his Ph.D in Plasma Physics from Department of Physical Electronics at Masaryk University, Czech Republic, he continued his service at KU in 2002. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2007 and Full Professor in 2013. During his 24 years at KU, he has served as the Head of the Department of Natural Sciences for 6 years, Associate Dean of School of Science for four years. He was the Director of Research, Development and Innovation (RDI), KU since 2018 to 2022. His research areas are diverse covering Plasma Surface modification of polymers, Plasma diagnostics and applications, Deposition of thin films Characterization of solid surfaces by contact angle measurement, Synthesis and characterization of ZnO etc. Apart from his teaching responsibilities, Prof. Subedi is actively involved in research and has published over 60 research papers and 3 book chapters till date.
