Biography

Anil Lamichhane is a Lecturer with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Nepal.

Lamichhane received M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering with major in power electronics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, P.R. China in 2020. He received B.E degree in electrical engineering from Pashchimanchal Campus, Pokhara, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2015.

During his Master’s degree he was associated with State Energy Smart Grid R&D Centre (Shanghai) as a Research Assistant. He worked in following orgainzations before joining KU:

  • Lecturer- Pashchimanchal Campus, Pokhara, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal from Aug 2020- Feb 2021
  • Research Assistant  - Shanghai Huan-Sun Power Energy Co. Ltd, Shanghai, P.R. China from June 2020- Aug 2020
  • Electrical Overseer- Civil Service Hospital of Nepal, Kathmandu, Nepal from Jan 2017- Sep 2017
Honors and Awards
  • 2017-2020: He was awarded with Chinese Government Scholarship by Chinese Government under the nomination of Ministry of Education, Nepal Government for studying Master's degree in electrical engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, P.R. China.
  • 2011-2015: He was awarded with Freeship (under the full fee topper scheme) provided by the Insititute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University during his Bachelor's degree in electrical enginering at Pashchimanchal Campus, Pokhara.
  • 2008-2010: He was awarded with Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship by Government of India through Indian Embassy in Nepal, for high school level study.
Research

His areas of research interest are :

  • Modeling and control of power electronic systems
  • Transportation electrification (More electric-ship/aircraft/train)
  • Grid integaration of distributed generation and energy storage system
  • Application of power electronics in power system (microgrids, low inertia system, HVDC system, FACTS devices)
