Biography

COURSES TAUGHT

Mr. Sombhojen Limbu specializes on Constitutional Law with a focus on the Rights of Indigenous People and Minorities. He teaches Constitutional Law, Family Law, Evidence Law and Property Law at Kathmandu Unversity School of law.

PROFESSIONAL AND TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Mr. Limbu has been teaching KUSL students since 2014 as an Associate Professor. Mr. Limbu has a legal career of more than Twenty years. He has experience a practical lawyer in the Supreme Court as well as other subordinate courts in Nepal. Before joining Kathmandu University School of Law as an Assistant Professor., he also worked as an expert for the Rights to Indigenous People in Nepal.

Limbu taught Business Law for B.B.S II Year students at Padma Kanya Campus, the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University. He also conducted severail training, workshop program, attended semenior as Constiutional law expert during the Consitution making process in Nepal.

As a legal professional, Limbu worked with UNHCR to protect rights to asylum seekers and refugees who have lived in Nepal. He also worked with Dalit NGOs Federation for Legal Aid and Advocacy Campaign Project for protecting and enforcing rights to Dalits in Nepal via file Public Interest Litigation (PIL) cases at the Supreme Court, particularly challenging existing discriminatory laws and policies adversely affecting the disadvantaged people of Nepal. He is experienced in the right based approach in the protection of human rights as it concerns the people facing disadvantages.
