Dr. Ghimire has more than 8 years of research and project experience in waste(water) treatment. Prior to joining the department at Kathmandu University, Dr. Ghimire was an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Research Management Cell at Center for Postgraduate Studies, Nepal Engineering College.
Dr. Ghimire has supervised 17 graduate theses and mentored several undergraduate projects. Currently, he has been co-supervising three Ph.D. students.
His research interest is in biological processes for waste(water) treatment and resource recovery especially via application of anaerobic fermentation process, treatment process monitoring, Sustainable WASH and Life Cycle Assessments. Dr. Ghimire, a registered engineer in Nepal Engineering Council have authored more than 25 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and six book chapters. His research impact can be seen on GoogleScholar. Besides, he has been serving as an active reviewer for more than 25 international peer-reviewed journals which can be seen on Publons.
In his current role at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Dr. Ghimire teaches undergraduate and graduate courses related to Water and Wastewater Engineering in Environmental Engineering programs.
