Biography

Dr. Adhikari was a board member of UGC, Nepal from 2017-2021, vice chairman of Nepal Engineering Council from 2023-2026, currently coordinator of centre for environmental safeguards and occupational safety (CESOS) at Kathmandu University and Associate professor at Department of Environmental Engineering, Kathmandu University. He was also a member of the environmental assessment review committee at the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) chaired by the Prime Minister from 2017-2022 and a member of the committee of Policy Co-ordination for Technical & Vocational Education and Training (CTEVT) chaired by Education Minister from 2016-2020. He has been involved in many projects launched by the Government of Nepal, ADB, World Bank and UNDP as an environmental consultant. Dr. Adhikari holds an experience of more than 15 years in the field of Research, Consulting and Teaching, Bioengineering, Alternative Energy Technology, Environmental Assessment, and Environmental Technology. He holds a B.Tech degree in Environmental Engineering from Kathmandu University, M.Sc in Sustainable Water Sanitation Health and Development Engineering (Equivalent to Civil and Environment Engineering) from Tribhuwan University, I.O.E Pulchowk Campus and Ph.D in Environmental Science from Kathmandu University. He has established a “Dr. Bikash Adhikari endowment fund” of NPR 20 million in Kathmandu University and conducted about NRS 110 million projects activities till date in Kathmandu University which also involves the establishment of environmental block.
