TTC conducted two weeks of professional training on Earthquake Resistant Design and Retrofitting Technologies of Building

Technical Training Center (TTC) has organized a two weeks professional training at Technical Training Center (TTC), Kathmandu University on “Earthquake Resistant Design and Retrofitting Technologies of Building” for capacity building of the technical staff of the Banepa Municipality (BM). The training was held from 12 September 2022 to 25 September 2022 at the Technical Training Center building, Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel. Technicians and Engineers from Banepa Municipality participated in the training.

The course was facilitated by the Department of Civil Engineering. Dr. Shyam Sundar Khadka was the key course instructor along with Mr. Vimesh Paudel and Mr. Shiva Prasad Timalsina. The participants were provided with knowledge of Nepal National Building Code (NBC), earthquake-resistant design, seismic analysis, and design of reinforced concrete buildings.

The professional training was a part of the Agreement of Corporation (AoC) between KUTTC and BM. KUTTC along with BM will also organize various other programs and training in the future for people, students, local technicians, and professionals of Banepa as part of the AoC.
