Professor Sabita Maharjan is a Full Professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, Norway from September 2022. She received her Ph.D. degree in Networks and Distributed Systems from the University of Oslo and Simula Research Laboratory, Norway, in 2013.
On July 23, 2025 Professor Maharjan visited Kathmandu University and delivered a guest lecture titled "AI for Energy Networks: An Integrated Perspective" to Graduate students of Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DoCSE), Department of Artificial Intelligence (DoAI). Professor gave an overview of her research works in the field of Energy Informatics, AI for Energy Networks, PriTEM Project and briefly introduced the team of professors, Postdoc and PhD students at Energy Informatics group at IFI, UiO.
On July 24, 2025, Professor Maharjan engaged with the faculty members of Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Dr. Pankaj Raj Dawadi, PhD, Acting Head of Department, DoCSE facilitated the interaction session where discussions focused on possibilities of joint research, project, and Graduate and PhD Thesis Supervision.
The event concluded with Associate Dean, Professor Bal Krishna Bal, School of Engineering presenting a token of love to Professor Maharjan.
It was an enriching knowledge sharing session, where faculties and students gained insights into cutting-edge global research and development efforts. The Department sincerely thanks Professor Sabita Maharjan for her valuable time and insights to Kathmandu University
