Norwegian Minister of International Development H.E. Dag-Inge Ulstein’s Visit to Kathmandu University on November 5, 2019

Norwegian Minister of International Development H.E. Dag-Inge Ulstein visited Kathmandu University (KU) in Dhulikhel, Kavre on November 5, 2019. The Minister was accompanied by Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal H.E. Lasse Bjørn Johannessen and other Norwegian dignitaries.

The delegates were welcomed by KU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, KU Registrar Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, KU Trustees, faculty and staff, and alumni of Norway-funded programs at KU. During the visit, two KU faculty members associated with Norwegian universities—Director of Community and Public Health Program and Assoc. Prof. of Public Health Dr. Biraj Man Karmacharya, and Faculty In-Charge of Turbine Testing Lab and Asst. Prof. of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa—briefed the Minister and the delegates on: “KU-Norway Collaboration in Health Sector;” and “History of KU-Norway Support and Partnership.” After an interaction session with the welcoming party, the Minister toured the Prof. Inge Johansen Engineering Block, an eponymous building named in honor of a Norwegian professor and long-time KU supporter, and KU’s Turbine Testing Lab (TTL).
