Norwegian Ambassador H.E. Ms. Torun Dramdal visits Kathmandu University for the signing of EnergizeNepal Program Extension and Upscaling

On 26 October 2021, at Kathmandu University), Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa and H.E. The Ambassador of The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kathmandu Ms. Torun Dramdal inked for an Addendum 1 for EnergizeNepal with a time extension of 39 months and an additional fund of 23.547 MNOK. This funding will be instrumental to uplift the research culture ensuring the institute-industry partnership in Nepal and the region.

The event was conducted on both physical and virtual modes. Many Norwegian partners participated in virtual mode. Dean, School of Engineering, Prof. Manish Pokharel welcomed the delegates. Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University put forward his remarks over the Nepal-Norway cooperation. H.E. The Ambassador highlighted the importance of the long history of Nepal-Norway collaboration for capacity building of local research in renewable energy technologies. Vice-Chancellor presented the Token of Love to the Norwegian delegates. The addendum signing ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and closing remarks from Associate Dean, School of Engineering, Associate Prof. Brijesh Adhikary.

The delegates in the leadership of Vice-Chancellor, visited the Turbine Testing Laboratory and High Voltage Laboratory.
