MoU with the Water Resources Research and Development Centre and School of Science, Kathmandu University

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Water Resources Research and Development (WRRDC), Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal, Pulchowk, Lalitpur and School of Science, Kathmandu University (KU), Dhulikhel on 11 November 2021 at the office of the WRRDC, Pulchowk.

The Dean of School of Science, Prof. Dr. Kanhaiya Jha and the Executive Director of the WRRDC, Dr. Maheswor Shrestha signed the MoU. Dr. Rijan Bhakta Kayastha, Coordinator of the Himalayan Cryosphere, Climate and Disaster Research Center (HiCCDRC), Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, School of Science, KU and Mr. Jebin Tamrakar, Senior Divisional Engineer and Chief of Climate Change and Research Section, WRRDC are the contact persons from the respective institutions.

The MoU will help to carry out research on field based snow and glacier monitoring, glacio-hydrological and climate change related studies in Nepal with the financial support from the WRRDC. Such studies will help to know more about the status of snow, glaciers and water resources of Nepal.
