MoU between Kathmandu University and Far Western University

On 9 February 2023, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Kathmandu University and Far Western University. Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University and Prof. Dr. Amma Raj Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Far Western University signed the MoU on behalf of the universities. In the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa, Prof. Dr. Bivek Baral and Prof. Dr. Rajendra Joshi introduced the ongoing activities of Kathmandu University and highlighted the areas of possible mutual cooperation. Similarly, Prof. Yagya Raj Pathak, Registrar of Far Western University made welcome remarks and introduced the Far Western University. Dean, directors and administrative officials of Far Western University and officials of Kathmandu University expressed their happiness at being formally connected with each other.

The following are some of the key points mentioned in the Memorandum of Understanding:

  1. Capacity development through exchange of faculty, researchers and administrative staff.
  2. Conducting collaborative research projects.
  3. Exploring possibilities of developing joint courses or degree programs.
  4. Short-term and long-term deputation of faculty/staff members as per the needs.
  5. Promoting other academic cooperation as mutually agreed.
  6. Sharing the laboratories to enhance teaching, research and innovation.
