Agreement Signed Between Kathmandu University and Pokhara University for the transfer of Sanitation program

An agreement between Kathmandu University - School of Engineering (KU-SoE) and Pokhara University – Faculty of Science & Technology (PU-FST) was signed on 19th November 2019 at Kathmandu University (KU), Dhulikhel. The purpose of this agreement is to transfer the Sanitation programs (Masters Degree and Graduate Professional Diploma program) to Pokhara University (PU) as a 2nd tier partner.

Kathmandu University in collaboration with IHE Delft – Netherlands, funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is implementing the Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS) program in Nepal with introduction of new sanitation education including Masters Degree, Professional diploma and Online course in Faecal Sludge Management. The Global Sanitation Graduate School was launched on 21 Nov. 2018 at IHE Delft with participation from different institutions globally. In Nepal, KU (as 1st tier partner with IHE Delft) is responsible to transfer the program to two academic institutions (as 2nd tier partners), namely Pokhara University and Tribhuvan University.

Separate agreement has been made with Pokhara University – Faculty of Science & Technology (PU-FST) and Nepal Engineering College (NEC). As per the agreements, PU-FST will deliver the Masters program in Sanitation and NEC will deliver the Graduate Professional Diploma in Sanitation. KU has already launched the M.E/ M.S in Sanitation Technology in 2019.
