A short talk by former registrar Prof. Dr. Bhadra Man Tuladhar titled 'Mathematics in Elections and Politics' was held successfully on 16th November 2022 at the CIKU Hall on Block 10. It was organized by Kathmandu University Computational Mathematics Club with the support of the Department of Mathematics.

The talk focused on the use of Mathematics, mainly the Analytic Hierarchy Principle, in organizing and analyzing decisions with complex factors. It also discussed the Sainte-Laguë method to convert votes cast to the number of seats allocated. Attendees observed the data regarding all past elections that have taken place in Nepal.

The event was graced with the presence of the Dean of the School of Science Prof. Dr. Janardan Lamichhane, the Controller of Examinations Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa and the Head of Department of Mathematics Dr. Rabindra Kayastha along with numerious other faculty and students from different departments of the university.
