Biography

Dr. Sujan Adhikari is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Kathmandu University (KU). Dr. Adhikari received his B.Engg and M. Engg degree from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Apparatuses, Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University) in 2008 and 2010, respectively. He received PhD degree in power engineering from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2018.

Before rejoining KU in 2024, from 2010 to 2013 he was a Lecturer and later an Assistant Professor at KU. From 2018-2021 he was with Savvy Tech Pvt. Ltd. as the Executive Director (Energy Systems) and the co-founder. From 2021-2023, he served School of Engineering Pokhara University as an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Bachleor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Program. He was with Hillside College of Engineering, Kathmandu from 2023-2024 as an Associate Professor and Coordinator of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering Program before joining KU. He has been a visiting faculty at Institute of Engineering (IOE)- Pulchowk Campus, Kathmandu University and Khwopa College of Engineering since 2018. Dr. Adhikari has published several research papers in Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) conferences and journals and serves as a reviewer for different IEEE journals and conferences. His broad research Interest is on Microgrids, Application of Power Electronics to Power System, Renewable Energy and Energy Storages, Power Quality.

  • Honored as senior member of IEEE (2024).
  • Honored with the “Nepal Bidhyabhusan Ka” Award from the honorable President of Nepal.
  • Recipient of Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) on behalf of Agency of Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), to pursue PhD studies tenable at NTU, Singapore.
  • Recipient of UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowship Award (October 3- October 28,2012 in Russian Federation)
  • Recipient of Nepal-Russia Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship Award (2003-2010)
