Mrs Shrestha received her BSc (general Science) and MSc (Botany) from Tribhuvan University. She has also earned MSc (Pharmacognosy) from University of Wales, Cardiff, UK. She has over 30 years of work experience in the Government Research unit in the area of Pharmacognostical studies of Nepalese medicinal plants. She was visiting faculty in this department since 1995 and at present she is full time faculty member.
