Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
was signed between Department of Pharmacy, Kathmandu
University and Nepal Pharmaceutical Laboratories
Pvt. Ltd., Birgunj, Nepal at Soaltee Crowne Plaza,
Kathmandu on 16th August 2005 to begin
and bolster academia and private sector collaboration for
technological development of the nation.
Shimadzu - Kathmandu University (KU) Education Centre
for Pharma Professionals was officially inaugurated
amidst a function here at Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel
by Professor Suresh Raj Sharma, Vice Chancellor of
KU and Mr. T. Kishida, Managing Director
of Shimadzu (Asia Pacific). The centre is established
with an objective of developing human resources for pharmaceutical
analysis, other chemical analysis as well as increasing quality
testing capabilities of various chemicals, food, water etc.
Shimadzu has provided a full configuration HPLC (Prominence
UFLC system) and a GC (GC - 2014 system)
to begin with and Shimadzu plans to develop this centre gradually.
This centre will also be training centre for all SAARC countries
in due course of time.
Department also has linkage between Deurali-Janta Pharmaceuticals
Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu and Simca Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu. |

Important Events |
- Model Pharmacy-Health Care Center was inaugurated at 2.00
pm on 16th March 05 in Block 12 (Pharmacy Block).
- Department of Pharmacy-Health Awareness Meet (HAM) started
from 25th September 2005 (World Heart Day).
- Forum for Pharmacy (FoP), Kathmandu University, Nepal
had organized 6th Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium
(APPS), which was held in 2007.
- Inauguration of Bioavailability and Bioequivalence lab
in the department sponsored by Nepal Pharmaceutical Laboratories
Pvt. Ltd., Birgunj.
- Inauguration of Shimadzu – Kathmandu University
Education Centre for Pharma Professionals at Department
of Pharmacy, Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel Nepal on 24
December 2007.
