Research experiences on impacts of agricultural intensification (on livelihood, food security, soil and water resources), agriculture & sustainable development, and water issues (quality, pollution, waste/water treatment, & conservation). Research interest on environmental aspects of agricultural intensification, natural resources, water quality, river pollution, development, and climate change.

  • Team member: Three year project entitled 'Agricultural Intensification Impacts on Soil, Water and Socio-economic Conditions in Mid-hill Watersheds of Central Nepal (HAIP)', Project No. Norad: NPL 2032 supported by NORAD, Norway.
  • Project coordinator: Monitoring water quality in springs of the Nepalese Middle Hills using diatoms a project conducted through Small Ecological Project Grant, British Ecological Society, London from October 2003 -November 2004.
  • Consultant and team member: Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention Programme/JICA, Nepal to prepare schoolbooks entitled Water Induced Disaster Mitigation Education both in English and Nepali language, 2002.
  • Environmentalist: Project of Dept. of Biological and Environmental Sciences, Kathmandu University and ICIMOD, Nepal funded by AusAID for a year during February 2000 to 2001. The title of the project was “Capacity building for community water quality assessment in the Jhikhu Khola Watershed, Kavre District, Nepal”
