1. Research study on “Corporate Social Responsibility”
funded by UGC
2. Research study on “University in the changed context”
funded by UGC
3. Research proposal on “Value perspectives on education”
submitted to Spencer Foundation for funding. They say they will
decide it in four months.
4. DelPhe project on “Peace building through teacher education”
awarded by British Council.
5. Association with Handong Global University to start faculty development
of KU through School of Education; this is in process.
6. Link with Korean physicist for hunting physics students’
talent in KU so as to award full scholarship for the talent to study
Masters’ degree and beyond in South Korea.
7. Linkage with University of East Anglia, UK to collaborate joint
research and longer term collaboration.
8. Association with House of Rajkarnikar to organize a joint conference
on “Governance and Management of Educational Institutions”
to be held in October 2010 in Kathmandu; 4 experts from BELMAS will
be joining to run the conference. KUSOED is planning to present
2-3 papers.
9. Association with Metropolitan College New York to see the possibility
of joint Masters Degree program for Maths Education so that our
Maths Ed students can go to New York for their practical work experience,
i.e. teaching Maths in schools there and some theory courses.
10. Research project on “Financing Literacy” to be funded
by UNESCO.
11. Linkage with University of Wyoming for faculty exchange. Dr.
Bal Chandra Luitel has been invited to present a paper on Maths
Education in an international seminar organized by the University
in Wyoming in September 2010.
12. Association with Otsuma Women University, Japan for joint research,
exchange of researchers, academic programs and others. A joint seminar
on Health and Environment is taking place at KUIC on August 26-27,
funded by the University.
13. Association with California State University for joint research
and faculty exchange programs. Dr. B C Luitel has been invited to
give a seminar to graduate students on “Transformative Educational
research”
14. Association with US Embassy Kathmandu to support KUSOED for
English Language Fellow Program 2008-10.
15. NOMA Master Programme in Environment Education and Sustainable
Development in collaboration with Norwegian University of Life Sciences,
Oslo University College, and Dhaka University, supported by NORAD
through SIU 2008-2012.
16. Consultancy services to different MOE echelons have been provided
both individually by our faculty members and institutionally by
KUSOED.
