DCGE participated in National Symposium organized by NSET
Department of Civil and Geomatics Engineering participated in a 2 day long National Symposium on “Research and Development on Rural Housing” organised by Nepal Society for Earthquake Techonology – Nepal (NSET) on the occasion of 20th Earthquake Safety Day. The symposium was conducted on January 21 and 22, 2018.
Act. Head of Department, Dr. Prachand Man Pradhan, Asst. Prof. Ramesh Adhikari, and graduate student Mr. Mahesh Raj Bhatt participated in the symposium.
Dr. Pradhan delivered a presentation on “Failure Patterns of Stone Masonry Buildings at Ramechhap Due to 2015 Gorkha Earthquake: A Case Study”. The paper was jointly prepared by Dr. Pradhan and Mr. Bhatt. The presentation highlighted the failure patterns of non engineered stone masonry buildings in Makadum Village Development Committee of Ramechhap District, Nepal after Gorkha Earthquake 2015.
The Leading organizing partners of the symposium were National Reconstruction Authority, Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and National Society for Earthquake Technology – Nepal.
