Workshop on New Development Frontiers
The Department of Development Studies at SOA, in collaboration with the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University in the UK, organized a workshop on the theme of ‘New Development Frontiers: The Role of Youth, Sport and Cultural Interventions’ at the Conference Hall of SOA in Hattiban on April 27, 2018. Dr Aoife Sadlier, Research Associate working for the project at Loughborough University, gave a presentation highlighting the main features of the research project and explaining its objectives to the participants. The participants consisted of sports personalities, professional high trail runners and cyclists, as well as musicians and academicians. An engaging discussion followed, which explored how sport, culture and education can be harnessed more effectively for Nepal’s future sustainable development.
A meeting held at SoA
A meeting held on April 23, 2018 between School of Arts, Kathmandu University and Nepal Administrative Staff College to discuss possibilities of launching a new Master Program on Public Policy and Governance.
Picnic Programme Organized by KUSoA
On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2071 B.S., Kathmandu University School of Arts (KUSoA) organized a picnic program for its faculty and staff on April 18 (Baisakh 5). The program was organized at Bajrabarahi, Lalitpur, and it witnessed enthusiastic participation from the members of KUSoA family, including the dean, associate deans, coordinators, teachers, administrative staffs and supportive staffs. As it was the first event of its type since KUSoA was shifted to its own premises at Hattiban about a year back, it provided an opportunity for the faculty and staffs to mix-up and know each other better in an unofficial setting, as well as to refresh themselves from their busy schedules.
Research Methodology Workshop
HNRSC- KU organized three days Research Methodology Workshop on 24-26 March, 2008 for its master and PhD students. Training on data gathering tools and techniques, scientific writing and data interpretation was given to the students during this workshop.
Conflict Management Workshop
HNRSC together with Global Majority (INGO) organized a two-day workshop on "Conflict Management" in March 2008. Trainings on development of negotiation skills, conflict resolution and effective communication were given to HNRSC students by international experts.
HNRSC and University of Zurich jointly organized a three-day e-learning course on Globalisation and Livelihood Option for People living in Poverty (GLOPP) from in January 2009. Faculties and students from HNRSC and DEVS participated in this workshop.
